Bill has been practicing law since 1982, primarily in the
fields of complex criminal and civil litigation, criminal defense, both federal trials and
state and personal injury. Since
the mid 1980s, Bill expanded his practice to include appellate
law and as a result, he has numerous published opinions in both federal and states cases.
These appeals originated out of both the state and federal
court systems.
Bill has published opinions in federal courts in both the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit located
in Denver, Colorado and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit Court of
Appeals located in New Orleans, Louisiana. In the past year,
Bill had an opinion published by the Fifth Circuit Court
of Appeals, Floyd v. United States, which was reversed
and remanded for resentencing. Bill also has practiced before The United States Supreme Court.
Bill is admitted to practice law before The Supreme Court
of the United States of America. The U.S. Supreme Court
is a court few attorneys are admitted to practice in because
an attorney is required to have a case before the U.S. Supreme
Court in order to be admitted to practice in that court.
Bill is also admitted to practice law before the United
States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, The United
States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, The U.S.
District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma, The
U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas,
The Supreme Court of Oklahoma, The Supreme Court of Texas,
The Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals and all other courts
in Oklahoma and Texas. He has orally argued appeals
to federal judicial panels in Denver, Colorado and to federal judicial panels in New Orleans,
Louisiana, as well as state appeals to The Oklahoma Court
of Criminal Appeals. His experience includes lead
counsel in numerous federal jury trials and state jury trials
as well as various courts of appeal. He is a member of The
Death Penalty Habeas Corpus Panel for the Western District
of Oklahoma and The Criminal Justice Act Panel for the Western
District of Oklahoma.
Bill graduated from The University of Oklahoma school of
law in 1982 and was admitted to the Oklahoma State Bar Association
in 1982. His first job with a law firm was working
for a large law firm in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Bill
also gained valuable experience working for a law
firm in Fort Worth, Texas. Several years later, Bill
left the law firm in Oklahoma City to open his own firm
in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Bill has had his own law
firm since 1985 and has represented clients in courts in
Oklahoma, Texas, Missouri, Colorado, Louisiana, Illinois,
Arkansas, Kansas,Hawaii, New York, California, Nevada and the District of Columbia.
Bill works tirelessly for those who need help. He is a
former boxer who fought in the early and mid 1970s prior
to going to law school. He also produced multiple
concerts nationwide with many world-class entertainers,
including Frank Sinatra, the famed superstar of the twentieth
century.
Bill has received the coveted honor of being joined
with many distinguished Americans and world-famous individuals
by being recognized and named, since the year 2000 and every
year thereafter, in the highly esteemed Marquis
Who’s Who in the World, as well as Marquis
Who’s Who in American Law and Marquis
Who’s Who in America.
